CARE ADVICE

To get the very best from Sstutter jewellery, it must be cared for and treated with respect. Every aspect of the design process ensures durability and comfort, but the pieces can be easily damaged if not handled properly.

THINGS TO AVOID

  • Be careful not to crush the jewellery with intense hugging. The desire may be strong, but avoid sleeping with it on.
  • Keep the acrylic and the chain away from solvents such as perfume or alcohol-based products, including sprays and creams. These can fracture the acrylic and tarnish the chain. If you can smell solvents, please be cautious.

STORAGE

  • Store Sstutter jewellery in a cool, dry place. When not in use, keep it in the box provided. The box can also be used for transport. Ensure the chain is placed behind the cushion to prevent it from moving against the acrylic surface.

CLEANING

  • Clean acrylic jewellery with a soft, clean microfibre cloth. Keep a cloth specifically for this purpose. The cloth does not require any liquids to clean the product and can be washed as needed. Microfibre cleaning cloths are widely available.
  • In addition to a microfibre cloth, use a soft brush and cotton buds. An air duster aerosol can be useful for blowing off dust and reaching tight corners.

MIRROR ACRYLIC

  • Extra care is needed for mirrored and printed acrylic. Contact with solvents and alcohol-based perfumes/aftershaves will permanently damage the surface, causing 'crazing'. Apply sprays before adding your accessories.
  • Mirror acrylic is a delicate material and may develop tiny scratches despite careful handling. These scratches can occur during making and cleaning due to dust particles. They are typically only visible under close inspection and are unfortunately an unavoidable aspect of mirror acrylic. If you choose mirror acrylic, please be aware that minor imperfections are part of its nature.

REPAIRS

  • Any damage to the jewellery can most likely be repaired or replaced. I will make every effort to restore the jewellery to its original condition. Please visit the Repair Credit listing for details. There will be a charge involved in repair work, but please don't be put off and get in contact - whatever the issue may be. It is really important that you are happy and confident about the product.
